Knives and Tools has been Europe’s go-to webshop for (kitchen)knives and outdoor gear for 25 years. They cater to both hobbyists and pros who settle for nothing less than the best in quality, functionality, and reliability. Driven by passion, they offer an impressive product lineup backed by service that excites and inspires. With their new Experience Center in Apeldoorn, they’ve leveled up. This isn’t just a place to see products – it’s a place to experience them.
Knives and Tools knows their passion is contagious. But they wanted to go beyond showing their gear online. “You can look at products anywhere, but where do you get to see what they’re really capable of?” That’s what sparked the idea of building an Experience Center – a playground for gear enthusiasts to test, learn, and live it. It’s all about creating a stronger connection with their customers – online and offline.
The Experience Center we designed and built for Hultafors was an inspiration for Knives and Tools. In the early phase, we connected Knives and Tools with Hultafors so they could hear firsthand about their experience working with us
Following an in-depth briefing, we got to work turning their ideas into a fully custom design. Once we got the green light, we handled the entire project from start to finish. With our expertise in building interactive spaces, we know deadlines are non-negotiable. Our project manager kept everything running smoothly – from detailed planning to flawless coordination with suppliers and partners.
From the moment you walk in, you’re immersed in a world packed with action and adventure. The space has a rugged, industrial vibe that grabs your attention immediately. Think: a front desk made of tree trunks, a cozy coffee corner, and sturdy Chesterfield sofas inviting you to hang out. The EDC (Every Day Carry) area is where you’ll find pocket knives, keychains, and other must-have tools for daily life. This sleek, Instagram-worthy setup lets you mix and match your gear, take photos, and test combinations to see what fits your style.
You’re guided through the experience in a logical, well-thought-out route that seamlessly connects 10 seemingly different worlds.
But the real adventure begins as you explore further. In the multitool obstacle course, you’ll find yourself tightening screws, stripping wires, and sawing ropes, just like you’re out in the wild. The Flashlight Tunnel offers a pitch-black environment where you can test which flashlight truly conquers the dark. Over in the pocketknife area, you’ll discover everything from simple, practical designs to the most feature-packed models.
For outdoor enthusiasts, there’s even more to explore. In the bushcraft area, you can get back to basics: carving wood, chopping branches, and learning how to safely handle a fixed blade. Over in the tactical area, you’ll discover tools designed for high performance – from flashlights to rescue gear. Every detail in the center is designed not just to show you Knivesandtools’ world, but to help you truly experience it.
