At KOP, it’s about more than just stand building; it’s about valuable connections and constant improvement. Rowan has played a crucial role in our marketing team for five years, and he’s proof of that. What makes KOP the perfect fit for him? “KOP’s ambitions and drive to be the best caught my attention right away. I saw many opportunities and wanted to play a part in that,” Rowan says enthusiastically. Today, we give you a glimpse into the life of this dedicated marketer and what makes working at KOP so exciting for him.
This online marketer puts data at the heart of everything he does. Thanks to his sharp analytical skills, our marketing department performs better and better. He always starts his day with a structured approach. "I make sure I'm on time, plan my day so I'm well-prepared for the scrum session, and then we have a stand-up meeting to review the day's tasks and see how we can support each other," he explains.
His workday includes various tasks, but he has his favorites: “I get excited by projects that challenge me. Recently, I set up an email automation, and it’s satisfying when everything works.” The analytical part of his job also fascinates him. “The monthly reports show what we’ve done and what it’s delivered. They provide insights into the results and help plan future strategies.”
At KOP, we actively encourage continuous personal growth. That's why Rowan knows that standing still ultimately leads to falling behind. That's why he's always updating his knowledge. He attends webinars and finds inspiration from experts like Christ Coolen, Robert Cialdini, and Martin van Kranenburg. He also participates in forums and attends events like Digital Dialogues and Emerce Digital. “At the latter, it was mainly about AI and helpful content. I got proof that we’re on the right track with marketing, but also insights and tips to focus more on video. We use video, but we can optimize it.”
Rowan has been with KOP for five years now and has watched the team grow. “We’re a focused team that’s serious about meeting our goals, but we also make room for some humor. Everyone has their own strengths, and we complement each other well. With our structured process, we ensure consistent quality in our output,” Rowan explains.
During the pandemic, Dutch Luxury Garden Concepts (DLGC) was founded, a company owned by the same owner as KOP. DLGC develops luxury garden concepts like wellness spaces and garden offices. “Here, we focus on consumers instead of businesses. This has been, and still is, a learning experience for me. I’ve been involved from the start, gaining valuable experience in positioning DLGC.”
The marketing field is constantly evolving. That’s why we’re tuned in to what’s happening in the market. Rowan keeps a close eye on new developments. "At KOP, we have the freedom to experiment and innovate, like with ChatGPT. By now this is a good sparring partner for me. With the right input, it delivers quality output,” he says. He has created various GPT models for things like social media texts, SEO content, and more. “It doesn’t take over my work but makes it more efficient!”
What other developments does Rowan expect in the marketing world? “There have been many recent Google updates that negatively impacted the ranking and traffic of various websites. We weren't hit too hard, but we're now even more focused on our content. Our target audience really needs to benefit from it," he explains. His advice for other marketers? "Make sure to maintain your brand identity. Stay top of mind with your audience but remain authentic and original."
After work, Rowan turns into a sports enthusiast. “At KOP, I work out twice a week during work hours. It helps clear my mind and then continue with a fresh perspective.”
Rowan is always active. His love for cycling perfectly aligns with his involvement in our annual cycling event, ‘Rondje KOP’. Along with colleague Wouter, he organizes a sporting event that also fosters connections with our clients. “We interact with clients more informally. For this 2024 edition, we invited interesting speakers like former pro cyclist Gert Jakobs and Christ Coolen, who speaks about marketing psychology. With good food and drinks, we really treat the participants.”
