As a marketer, you know that every bit of budget matters—especially at B2B trade shows where visibility is everything. Good news: with the revamped SIB (Support International Business) subsidy, you can take your trade show strategy to the next level! Achieve greater impact without painful budget cuts or robbing a bank.

What is the SIB subsidy?

The SIB subsidy (Support International Business) is a unique opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom that plan to participate in a trade show. You can get up to 50% of your participation costs covered, capped at €2,500 per show. And it gets even better: if you’re planning to attend multiple shows, you can receive up to €6,500 in subsidies in a single year.

Use this extra budget to invest in what really counts:

💡 A striking, custom-made booth: Make a bigger impact and let your brand shine.

📱 Cool interactive tech that engages visitors: Think selfie walls, “lift and learn” systems, or a presentation that literally stimulates all your senses.

🌍   Sustainable materials that reinforce your brand story: Choose eco-friendly options that not only impress but also contribute to your CSR goals.

🌿 Extra boost for ‘green’ SIB activities

Are you planning to participate in a trade show or mission focused on a “green” theme? Great news: starting in 2023, you can apply for additional SIB subsidies for sustainable activities! This means you can get even more out of your participation while contributing to a better world.

What does the green SIB subsidy entail?

Taking part in a trade show or mission focused on environmental goals? In that case, the subsidy can go up to 80% of eligible costs, with a maximum of €2,500 per activity.

The condition? The main theme of the show or mission must align with one of the categories in the “Assessment Framework for Green Missions or Trade Shows.” These categories outline key environmental objectives—such as sustainable energy, the circular economy, and climate adaptation. The document below contains examples of these objectives.

Why choose a green trade show?

  • More budget: With the increased subsidy, you can go bigger and greener.
  • Make an impact: Position your brand as a leader in sustainability.
  • Future-proof: Focus on innovation and help create a better world for tomorrow.

Make your green vision a reality in 2025

Combine the standard SIB subsidy with the additional green subsidy and give your marketing strategy a double boost. Whether you opt for an impressive sustainable booth, interactive tools that tell your circular story, or innovative materials. We’re here to help make your vision happen.

Who can apply?

Are you working for an SME and want to make your mark at international trade shows? Now’s your moment! Make sure you’re registered with the Chamber of Commerce (KvK in Dutch) and check the requirements (like the FMO exclusion list). Starting in January 2025, you can submit your application again. So keep an eye on updates from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).

Stronger together with collective subsidies

Aside from individual subsidies, there’s also funding for participating in trade missions or group stands. But let’s be honest: with a tailor-made approach to your booth, you’ll really steal the show. 💥
