Promotional activities help exhibitors to attract more visitors to their stand. This way, they hope to sell more products or to make more appointments. Businesses give away promotional items, hand over flyers in the hallway or attract visitors with huge screens or visuals. There are endless possibilities when it comes to impressing trade show visitors. But there is one simple thing that always works: food. To help you to think of the right food strategy for your exhibition, we have made an overview with the best food tips in 2018!

1. Tapas

Spice up the atmosphere at your stand with delicious tapas. It is easy for sharing which helps you to have relaxed, informal conversations. The best thing is that there are so many different snacks and dishes to serve; just choose a few and serve them on a wooden plate for a rustic look. How about olives, serrano ham, nacho's and cheese?

2. New food concepts

Are you innovative in business? Why not be innovative in food? Most visitors will never have tasted fried grasshoppers or edible flowers. Offer something that will impress or shock the public. Or take the CSR-approach and coöperate with a local business which uses 'waste' food that would otherwise have been thrown away to make delicious food. Choose something unusual which is in line with with your exhibition strategy and objectives

3. Freshly roasted Coffee

Who doesn’t love the smell of freshly roasted coffee beans? Create an attractive coffee bar and hire a professional barista and you're done! Traffic guaranteed in the mornings, after lunch and in the afternoon. Want to take your coffee to the next level? Print your logo in the coffeefoam!

4. Want to stand out? Use a cocktail shaker!

Create the best atmosphere with a professional cocktail shaker. Depending on your target group you can choose a cocktail theme and choose the ingredients. Are you targeting a formal business audience? Serve sophisticated cocktails like a White Russian or a Vesper Martini. Looking for more exotic drinks? Try a Strawberry Daiquiri or a good old Mojito. Or create your own cocktail and serve it at several events. Your guests will love it!

5. Really Good Cookies

Every cup of freshly brewed coffee needs a cookie. And not just any cookie: a really good cookie. We wouldn't be Dutch if we didn't recommend our traditional stoopwafels. Your trade show visitors are going to love the melting caramel in between two crunchy wafers. They are very popular at Dutch exhibitors, so we usually ask Amsterdam! Good Cookies to bake fresh stroopwafel cookies at our customers' exhibition stand. Success guaranteed.

6. Power food: green smoothies

At KOP we are really into healthy eating, and we're not the only ones. People are increasingly aware of the nutritional values of the food they consume. Do you want to take care of your visitors and make them remember you for it? Serve some power food on your stand. Your visitors will appreciate it when you take the time and effort to offer them something healthy and nutritional. Some popular examples are green smoothies, acaibowls or seaweed wraps.

7. Water

Anything new under the sun? Not really, but when it comes to food and drinks we cannot forget to recommend water. Walking through exhibition halls all day makes people thirsty. Water is the best and healthiest way to stay hydrated. If you are looking for a sustainable drink to offer.you can give your visitors recycled or sustainable water bottles with your logo or a memorable message.

8. Let's go nuts

We have said it before: nuts are always a good idea. They are tasty, convenient and healthy snacks and there is a huge variety to offer. Wrap them in a nice package with a catchy oneliner and you're done. 'Do nut forget me'. They won't.

9. Local food

Exhibiting in another country or continent? Collaborate with local entrepreneurs to find the most beautiful local ingredients and dishes. Everyone loves authenticity and food. Combine them to impress visitors and support locals at the same time!

10. Deep fried snacks

We finally arrived at one of the most traditional trade show food: deep fried snacks. Everybody loves crispy prawns, spring rolls or dutch 'bitterballen'. Anything deep fried will do, actually. Beer, anyone?
